Day trip to kasbah of telouet departure marrakech
Private Day trip from Marrakech :
Depart at 8:30 am from Marrakech heading southeast along the Tizi N Tichka Pass 2260 m (4825 ft), which was built by the French in the 1920s, the Pisé Berber village in red or grey nestling at the foot of the hillsides offering a unique picturesque and panoramic view. About 5 km (3 miles) along the road running down from the Pass towards Ouarzazate, a narrow road leads off to Telouet Kasbah in a steep valley. The castle of Telouet was one the principal residences of Thami, Pasha of Marrakech, whose power covered a large part of the High Atlas.
He stood for the French in the 1912 against the king, because of his opposition his family was exiled and his possessions dispersed. The Kasbah was subject to too much neglect, which is why ,most of the rooms are inaccessible since the roof has fallen in, however, the two reception rooms that have miraculously survived the passage of time adorned with tiles, engraved stuccowork and painted cedar ceilings witness the wealth of the Glaoui family.
From Telouet, presume your trip towards Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah this picturesque Berber village, which has been often used as a film location. Built near water and arable land, in a place safe from foreign attack and contains an impressive group of ochre Pisé Kasbahs. After Lunch, you will be driven back through national road back to Marrakech.
